Lights, camera, action!

The Campus Filming Program coordinates the use of UC Berkeley property by those involved in the creation of television, film, streaming/online content, and still photography.

Notice: Upcoming Filming Availability

Commercial film shoots are primarily accommodated during campus instruction breaks, with current availability focused on Winter Break (Dec 2026 – Jan 2027), Spring Break (March 2027) and Summer 2027. Due to ongoing classes and campus operations, location availability during the active Fall and Spring semesters is extremely limited.

The Campus Filming Program serves as the primary point of contact for film and television production companies, professional photographers, and media organizations seeking to film or photograph on any property owned or operated by the University of California, Berkeley.

Our office facilitates all aspects of commercial filming at UC Berkeley, including the issuance of the required Film License Agreement (commonly referred to as a film permit) and the coordination of necessary University-related services such as site access, parking, security, and on-site supervision. Learn about how to work with us, campus filming guidelines, and our rates and fees.

If you are interested in commercial filming or still photography on any property owned or operated by UC Berkeley, please contact:
